When does Hitch provide a refund?

As per our Cancellation Policy here, all rides canceled by the user an hour or more before they are set to depart are automatically refunded *ONLY* as a ride credit to your Hitch account. This credit doesn't expire and will automatically apply toward future rides booked in-app as a discount. We do not provide refunds in the form of payment back to your original payment method -- payments made at the time of booking are final.

When am I not eligible for a refund?

Hitch does not provide full or partial credit refunds for:

  • Rides canceled less than one hour before departure

  • Rides missed due to a rider arriving more than 10 minutes late to the pick-up location or failing to communicate with their driver or the Hitch Customer Experience team

  • Rides delayed or otherwise affected by uncontrollable events, including but not limited to - weather, traffic, construction, road conditions, etc.

  • No-show rides.

  • Rides we are unable to complete due to a rider's violation of our Rider Policy.

  • Rides deemed undesirable due to vehicle type or quality or an issue with a driver not meeting an expectation that falls outside of our Hitch driver requirements. We do expect our drivers to maintain a well-kept car and respectful environment. We constantly strive to provide the highest quality service and welcome all feedback about our drivers and their vehicles.

Standard Hitch Rider Policies and Terms of Service apply. Hitch credits and promotions are not stackable - only one promotion can be used per ride. Hitch credits and promotions hold no monetary value, cannot be used for tips, and cannot be transferred to another account. To make any changes to your scheduled ride, you will need to cancel your ride - this may mean you lose the promotion that was applied to your booking. All rides must start and stop at the time and location in the app booking. All purchases are final sale. If you cancel your scheduled ride you will receive a refund to your Hitch Credit Bank in the amount that you paid. Lastly, a ride reservation does not include any tips you may want to provide to your driver.
